UX Strategist, Cronin, Glastonbury


Reports to:  Director, Experience Strategy

The User Researcher/Information Architect is responsible for conducting research activities as well as mapping user-interfaces for web, desktop and mobile applications. The right candidate for this role will possess analytical as well as creative skills along with a thirst for understanding user needs, behaviors, and motivations. Candidates should enjoy leading group activities as well as interacting with clients/new business contacts. This role will work closely with Brand, Analytics, Technology and Creative teams from inception and planning through design and development.


  • Work with Director, Experience Strategy to develop interview guides, research protocols, and other planning documentation
  • Conduct user/participant/customer interviews both one-on-one and in focus groups
  • Conduct usability testing, both online and in-person
  • Assist with UX audits and assessments
  • Develop sitemaps, wireframes, usability assessments and similar deliverables, both internal and client-facing, based on established styles and guidelines
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining and populating design systems internally and for clients
  • Develop build reference guides, style guides, and other developer-facing documentation
  • Participate in / assist with new business pitches as needed
  • Have experience with or be interested in learning to lead workshops, co-creation activities, brainstorms as needed


Bachelor’s degree 


5 years of relevant work experience in user research and information architecture including the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in working with clients, designers and developers to create web interfaces, from landing pages to large scale websites
  • Understanding of user experience, web design and development processes, methods and principles
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms, wireframing & prototyping tools, Photoshop, HTML, and CSS
  • Strong visualization skills with the ability to clearly communicate, in writing and orally
  • Aware of current trends and new technologies in information architecture and design
  • Preparing and conducting user research
  • Preparing and conducting usability research
  • Creating sitemaps and wireframes
  • Documenting user requirements
  • Working in a highly collaborative environment including with design, development and analytics team members
  • Designing and conducting usability tests in both formal and informal settings
  • Preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings
  • Must have a strong understanding of responsive design
