OOHA/Wilkins sponsored this event at the Pond House in West Hartford on September 22. Close to 40 billboard designs were entered.
Don Carter of Adams & Knight took both first and second places, while Virginia Atkinson of Source took third place with her design.
The theme of all billboards was Opioid Addiction Awareness & Prevention. AD CLUB CT decided to take a leadership role and help the best way that we know how – developing and crafting messages to help bring this issue out in the open and using a medium that has broad reach – billboards. The billboard companies from around the state – OOHA/Wilkins, Trans-Ad Outdoor, Independent Outdoor, Lamar, CBS Outdoor and Signal Outdoor – are donating space by putting this board into digital rotation around the state. Each board is worth approximately $5,575 and will generate 225,790 average impressions per week!
Representatives from AD CLUB CT were invited as guests to the Governor’s Prevention Partnership where our efforts and the winning billboard were highlighted.
Donna Collins, a member and past president of the Advertising Club who also serves on the Governor’s Partnership, connected the Club with this great organization so that we can work together to spread the message, raising awareness and prevention.
